Earvin "magic" Johnson

One of the best player’s that was forced to quit his NBA career was Earvin Johnson. He was forced to quit because he had a serious disease that could affect others NBA players. The disease Earvin was diagnosed was HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus. He was most commonly known to the fans as Magic Johnson, so usually if you here his name you probably won’t here Earvin but probably Magic. Magic played from 1979- 1991 and one year in 1996. For a majority of his career he played for the Los Angeles Lakers. Magic’s number one rivalry was Boston Celtics star point guard Larry Bird.
He was also a big winner when it came to the NBA finals. Magic won the finals in 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, and out of all those years he was named most valuable player 3 times in 1980, 1982, and in 1987. And to go with all of those MVP’s he received MVP of the whole NBA 3 times in 1987, 1989, and 1990. Magic is also in the list of the top 50 NBA players of all time, and he comes in at number three on the list.
