Peter "Pistil" Maravich

Peter “Pistil” Maravich was one of the best NBA basketball players ever. He was born on June 22, 1947 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. He attended college at LSU and was a three time all American there. Also one amazing fact is that he achieved all his records before the three point line was introduced to the game of basketball. Then to go with some of his achievements he was the youngest player ever to be inducted into the hall of fame. In his NBA career he had a scoring average of 24.2 points per game. Pete was also a five time NBA all star, and was first team all-pro in the years 1976- 1977. Pete died suddenly in a pickup game of basketball January 5, 1988, and his death was because of a undetected heart defect. The tragedy of Pete’s death struck the United States, and just like that one of the greatest NBA basketball players was dead.
Pete Maravich has probably had a shorter life than other, but before his death people had gotten enough information about him to make a movie. The movie about Pete is call Pistil the Birth of a Legend, and the movie is about Pistil’s high school years.
